Is Your Home Pool Safe? Home water safety, It is your duty as a parent to ensure that your home pool is safe.
- Ensure all pool fence panels are in good repair and meet the correct safety requirements.
- Check for rusted, loose, or missing screws.
- Pool gates must be in good repair, be self-closing, close correctly, and once closed cannot be pulled open.
- Keep gates closed at all times, and never wedge open.
- All gates must have a lock and key.
- Store all keys out of sight and out of reach of children.
- Always have a current Resuscitation Sign displayed prominently in the pool area.
- Have a first aid kit available.
- Move garden furniture, BBQs, ladders, trees, and plants away from the pool fence, to prevent children from climbing and gaining access to the pool.
- Have chemicals stored securely, out of view, and out
of reach of children. - Do not allow access to pool pumps and machinery.
