Here’s a very simple recipe for some yummy homemade sausage rolls a perfect snack for a long weekend.

    • 6 good quality sausages (beef, pork, chicken)
    • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry (thawed)
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
If desired you can add chopped onion, grated carrot, grated zucchini, garlic any fillings, and top with sesame seeds or poppy seeds.

    1. Pre-heat oven to 220c (200c fan forced)
    2. Beat egg and mustard together.
    3. Cut each sheet of pastry in half and brush egg mixture onto one side of each pastry rectangle.
    4. Skin the sausages, divide the meat between the 4 rectangles of pastry.
    5. Lay meat onto pastry lengthwise.
    6. Fold the pastry over and seal edges (you can use a fork to crimp the edges).
    7. Cut each long roll into 3 and coat with egg wash.
    8. Bake for 15-20 min or until golden.

    Serve with your favourite sauce!
